I’m making Jam again!!

I’m hooked on jam making. It’s so much easier than I ever thought. I was lucky enough to be given some plums from a friendly neighbour. I don’t know what type of plums they are so if anyone can tell me I would appreciate it.

So I promptly did a web search and found another easy recipe. Same ratio of plums to sugar and a capful of lemon juice. Boil to 220F and put in sterilised jars. So easy!

So I halved and removed the seed and then roughly chopped the plums. Put in the saucepan with sugar and lemon juice and begun to heat

at which point I decided it was going to be too chunking so I blended with a hand blender.

I boiled till the temp reached 220F and did the wrinkle test a couple of times to be sure. Let it simmer while the wrinkle test being done. Then put the jam into the sterilised jars. I sterilised the jars in the oven after the baked potatoes for dinner were done.
